Develop A Strong Body & A Calm Mind
At Aikido Of Modesto
Aikido, a mind-body discipline often referred to as the “Art of Peace”, offers a non-violent way to victory in the face of conflict. Morihei Ueshiba (O’Sensei) believed that Aikido principles could be applied to all the challenges we face in life: in personal relationships, as we interact with society, and at work and in business. O’Sensei created Aikido as a martial way for students to develop a strong body and a calm mind. The natural reaction becomes defense rather than offense, protection rather than destruction. The throws, the take-downs, and moves in Aikido are based on compassion and harmonious relationships.
On the physical level, size and strength of the student have no bearing on the effectiveness of his or her technique. The power of Aikido flows from the student’s ability to keep balance, move and harmonize with the energy of the aggressor.
